abstract

These paintings begin with moments of connection to the natural world—a pattern of growth, a shift in light, the memory of a landscape, or simply the feeling of being immersed in nature's abundance and diversity.

Working intuitively, I use colour, organic line, and biomorphic shapes to transform these impressions into abstract visual language. The paintings are not intended to describe a particular place, but rather to evoke an experience: the sense of wonder, curiosity, joy, and discovery that nature continually inspires in me.

Each painting is an exploration of connection—between observation and memory, emotion and place, the seen and the felt.

If you find these abstract paintings compelling but also a bit intimidating, be assured that anyone can enjoy this type of artwork! I have created a guide that will help you become confident in viewing non-referential paintings.
